The pair jumped clear in the opening round which also counted as the first round of the Miami Global Champions League competition. Allen and Hector then went clear in 42.13 seconds in the seven horse jump-off to take the lead when second last to go - much to the delight of the crowd, for whom Hector has become a firm favourite across the world. However Switzerland's Jane Richard Philips snatched the winners prize of over €20,000 when jumping clear in 40.86 as last to go with Dieudonne de Guldenboom.

Tomorrow will see Bertram and Hector in another CSI5* class at 15:15 local time, which will be the final prelude to the Global Champions League final and Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach.

Tune in via GCT TV to watch the class.
