Bertram takes 5* win for the second day in a row

Bertram made it two from two in the opening days of the CSI5* during week nine at WEF when he brought Pacino Amiro (owned by Aiden McGrory) to victory in yesterday's 1.55m ranking class.

Bertram & Edison De Hus take their first international win at WEF

Once again the Florida venue proved to be a happy hunting ground for Bertram. Riding the 9-year-old bay gelding Edison De Hus, Bertram was one of the last riders into the ring in the 1.45m ranking in the CSI5* show at Wellington International.

Bertram and Emmylou Storm to Victory in CSI3* Grand Prix

The Winter Equestrian Festival’s (WEF) Week 6 came to a close on Sunday with the CSI3* Grand Prix on the grass Derby Field at Equestrian Village. Bertram and the speedy Emmylou topped a 10-horse jump-off in the day’s featured international class.

The energy was high in the International Ring at Wellington International on Thursday morning as a slew of the top riders in the world suited up to contest the precursor event to Saturday evening’s CSI5* grand prix during ‘Saturday Night Lights’.

Bertram & Emmylou win the Wellington Equestrian Realty CSI4* 1.45m

Course designer Peter Grant’s (CAN) set a one-round speed track that welcomed 50 pairs to test their quickness. The one that couldn’t be caught, however, was Bertram and Emmylou (Billy Mexico x Lupin Z), clocking in at 61.85 seconds. Second-place finisher Jessica Springsteen was just two seconds off the pace in 63.36 seconds, while Vanessa Hood rounded out the podium in 63.51 seconds.

Bertram & Edison De Hus 5th in yesterday's Grand Prix at WEF

Only six riders advanced to the jump-off in yesterday's Palm Beach Equine clinic Grand Prix in Wellington, with Bertram and 8-year-old Edison De Hus posting a speedy jump-off securing the second-best time. One unlucky pole put the duo in an impressive 5th place. Kent Farrington took the win, Ben Maher came runner-up, and Jos Verloy finished third.

Bertram & Caprisco topping the podium at WEF

A good start at WEF. Just a few days after Bertram's arrival in Florida, he takes on winning the 1m40 class riding  Caprisco. The 8 year old gelding  Edison De Hus had a super double clear on Wednesday, finishing 6th. All horses feel great after the long travel to Wellington.

Pacino Amiro ranked the second-best-earning showjumping horse in 2022

According to EQUNEWS and the new showjumping app 'Jumpr' (which analyzes the results of international riders and horses), Pacino Amiro is ranked the second-best-earning showjumping horse in 2022, collecting 959.237 euros. Daniel Deusser's Killer Queen takes the number one spot, earning her rider 1.063.187 euros.


Five-star Grand Prix Victory for Bertram and Empoli de Champloue in Riyadh

Bertram fourth in the World Cup leg of Riyadh


Bertram continued his success from Thursday's runner-up finish in Riyadh by taking a strong fourth place in Friday's CSI4* World Cup with Pacino Amiro.
David Will speeded to victory on 
Zaccorado Blue, and Mike Kawai came in second on Saxo de La Cour.  

Bertram will attend the CSI5* show in Riyadh this week.


Empoli de Champloue runner-up in Riyadh

Bertram & the 8 yo gelding Empoli de Champloue made it a brilliant runner-up finish in Thursday's 1m50 class at CSI4* Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Abdel Said took the win on Arpege du RU. Bertram will ride Pacino Amiro in today's 4* Grand Prix.

Bertram & Caprisco second in 2* Grand Prix

Between some busy weeks in Stockholm and Riyadh, Bertram brought some of the Ballywalter youngsters to the 2* show in Lichtenvoorde, which resulted in a superb runner-up finish in Sunday's 2* Grand Prix with the 8yo gelding Caprisco. 8yo Jelvinia topped the list on Saturday, winning the 1m35 speed class. This week, Bertram is in Riyadh with the more experienced horses, Buddy & Champ.

An outstanding performance from Bertram and Michael G Duffy, along with Switzerland's Edouard Schmitz, guided Miami Celtics to a massive victory in yesterday's €1.5M Global Champions League Super Cup Final at Prague in the Czech Republic.

Bertram 1st & 2nd in Peelbergen

The 8-year-olds did well in Peelbergen last weekend. Jelvinia was a star, winning the 1m40 class, while Caprisco came 2nd in the 1m45 jump-off class. Next stop Prague for the GCL Super Cup

Bertram & 'Champ' with 1m55 runner-up finish in Riyadh

Bertram and the 8-year-old gelding Empoli de Champloue scored a runner-up finish in Friday's Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation Trophy 1.55m jump-off class at the GCT fixture in Riyadh.
Victory went to Germany's Christian Ahlmann and Solid Gold Z. On the show's first day, the duo finished 4th in the 1m45.

Bertram and Pacino Amiro had a great day on Thursday, finishing 5th in the 1m55.

Bertram helps Team Ireland claim Olympic qualification for Paris with fourth-place finish at World Championships

On a night of high drama at the ECCO FEI World Show Jumping Championships in Herning, Denmark, an outstanding performance from Michael Blake's Irish Show Jumping team of Denis Lynch, Bertram Allen, Cian O'Connor and Daniel Coyle, saw them take one of the five coveted places on offer for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Bertram Allen closed his brilliant GCT Stockholm weekend yesterday with a win on Pacino Amiro (owned by Aiden McGrory) in a lightning-fast 1.55m jump-off class.With the Olympic Stadium packed to the rafters, Bertram defeated Daniel Deusser on Jasmien vd Bisschop to take the win by just 0.04 seconds. Local hero Peder Fredricson finished the podium to take bronze on Catch Me Not S.

Emmylou runner-up in Stockholm

Emmylou continues her excellent form to finish as runner-up in the 5* 1m45 opening class in Stockholm City Bertram, after winning the GP Qualifier in CSI3* Geesteren last week.

Henrik von Eckermann took the win with Glamour Girl, Omer Karaevli & Avant Toi (TUR) finished third.

Karlsson & Bertram best in the Youngster Challenge in Stockholm

No one managed to beat the strong duo of Bertram and 7yo Karlsson (by Carrera VDL), who took the win in the 1m35 Future Challenge Youngster challenge in CSI5* Stockholm city yesterday after finishing as runner-up the day before. Bertram stopped the clock in 66.34 seconds.

According to the Hippomundo Rider ranking, Ireland is the country with the most riders in the top 50. Especially in recent years, Ireland has made a name for itself on the international showjumping scene and has repeatedly shone through individual performances and as a team.

Bertram voted star of the month winner

Bertram won the Gain Equine Nutrition / The Irish Field Star star of the month for March 2022. Bertram had a successful season competing in Wellington and Ocala, US, where he won three major Grand Prix in the space of a few weeks.

Ranking class win for Kurkuma Della Caccia

Bertram guided 8-year-old Kurkuma Della Caccia, owned by Ballywalter Stables, to win the 1m45 ranking class at Sentower Park last weekend. The pair also finished third in the 1m35 the day before. Bertram also won the 6-year-old class riding Look at Me GR and finished 6th in Sunday's Grand Prix aboard Mikias vd Bisschop.
