Competing at the iconic Tor di Quinto venue, New York Empire delivered a flawless team performance, finishing on zero faults across four rounds to take the win ahead of Riesenbeck International in second and Istanbul Warriors in third.
Denis Lynch and Michael Pender got the team off to a perfect start with two clear rounds, before Lynch and Bertram Allen, aboard Pacino Amiro, completed the job with another two faultless performances to seal the victory.
Bertram said “What a great day for New York Empire. Winning in Rome is always special, but to do it with four clear rounds makes it even better. The whole team has done an incredible job, and Denis and Michael really set us up perfectly in the first round, so I knew I just had to go in and finish the job. Pacino Amiro jumped brilliantly, and it's a fantastic feeling to get this result for Georgina and everyone involved. With just two stages left, these points are really valuable. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into Cairo and finish the season on a high.”
The result moves New York Empire to third place in the overall Global Champions League standings, just seven points behind second-placed Istanbul Warriors.
With only two stages remaining, the team now looks ahead to the next leg in Cairo, Egypt, on 22–24 October.
