Ireland’s show jumping team came close to victory at the League of Nations Final in Barcelona, finishing second behind Great Britain by just 0.23 seconds after a tense jump-off.

Both teams ended the two main rounds on 16 faults, forcing a dramatic showdown for the title. The Irish riders — Mikey Pender with HHS Los Angeles (ISH), Sean Monaghan with Toyger, Billy Twomey, and Bertram with Quonquest De Rigo — delivered strong performances throughout.
Bertram & Qonquest de Rigo impressed with a brilliant double clear round, while Twomey and Monaghan each added only four faults. Despite Ireland’s determination, Britain edged them out in the final moments to claim the win.
It was a superb performance from the Irish team, proving once again that they are among the very best in the world.
