Bertram and the nine-year-old Izzy by Picobello were among seven combinations who made it into the jump-off in today's challenging course. Bertram, the last rider to go, unfortunately picked up four faults when chasing the target time to finish in 6th place, stopping the clock on 37.50 sec.

Today's competition was the second World Cup for the talented nine-year-old gelding, who finished 8th in Mechelen last year.

Victory went to Germany’s Daniel Deusser after a clear round in 36.83 with Cornet, ahead of Kevin Staut (FRA) in second with For Joy van’t Zorgvliet HDC (36.96) and Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander in third with California (38.22).

The result today gives Bertram Allen 11 points on the World Cup league table ahead of next weekend’s second round of the series at Helsinki in Finland, where Bertram will bring the same three horses: Izzy, Dino and It's Me.
