As the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower, a massive crowd filled the grandstands in Paris during the 1m60 GP.
In the first round, 35 starters faced the technical course designed by Uliano Vezzani. Bertram and Molly clocked up the first clear round, and was first to go in the jump-off to finish another brilliant clear in 36.86. Despite a field of top riders, Bertram was leading the whole way until the Egyptian rider Sameh El Dahan produced the round of his life to stop the clock on 36.32.
Bertram says:
"It was very hard to be first of 11 in the jump-off but I just went in to give it my all, and I’m so delighted to see Molly jumping so well again. I thought it would be enough for the podium but the line up in the jump-off was unbelievable with Peder, Edwina, Ben, Sameh and Harrie so it wasn’t going to be easy to hang on, but Molly was brilliant!"
