Darragh Kenny (IRE) and Balou du Reventon crossed the line clear in 42.17 to take the top prize, while Simone Blum (GER) and DSP Alice came second in 42.65 seconds. Bertram gave it a good try finishing just fractionally slower in 42.96 to finish third:
“Obviously I knew I had to be very, very fast to try and beat these guys, so I had to take a bit of risk. My horse answered all the questions very well, so I am absolutely delighted even with third today," Bertram said.
The two Irish riders were also topping the lists in general, as Darragh Kenny was named leading international rider of the show just ahead of Bertram in second.
