Starting off on Thursday, he achieved a remarkable triumph in the Speed Derby, riding the 9-year-old
Carrera Denfer. Carrying that momentum forward, he secured yet another triumphant victory in the 1m50 Dublin Stakes aboard the 9-year-old
Edison de Hus on Saturday.
The weekend cultimated as Bertram guided
Pacino Amiro to a remarkable 4th-place finish in the Grand Prix of Ireland, where a total of 40 horse-and-rider combinations participated. The jump-off featured twelve riders, including Bertram's younger brother, Harry Allen, and Calculatus, who finished 12th.
In an astonishing Jump Off, Bertram clocked a near-unbelievable 36.79 seconds. Yet, an unfortunate single fence stood between him and the trophy.
French rider Francois Xavier Boudant clinched the win aboard Brazyl Du Mezel with a time of 38.15 seconds. Britain's Harry Charles and Romeo 88 secured second place in 38.65 seconds, followed by fellow Brit Samuel Hutton and Casablanca-Hafter in third place with a time of 39.35 seconds.
A memorable weekend!
